Besteranai Faith Based Orgenisation








NAME OF PROGRAM: BETSERANAI Faith Based Organization.


LOCATION: MIDLANDS PROVINCE MBERENGWA DISTRICT (ELCZ Musume Mission).

Project Background:


Betseranai a faith based organization was established in year 2000, in response to the HIV &
AIDS pandemic. It is located in Mberengwa district at Musume mission in the Midlands
Province of Zimbabwe. 340 km to the east of Bulawayo .in a remote rural area. It operates in
the central Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zimbabwe. It comprise of 20
parishes, two deaneries (East and West). Led by one bishop and two Deans.Betseranai serves
communities from the following districts of Zimbabwe, Gweru, Shurugwi, and Zvishavane,
Mberengwa and Mwenezi.

• To promote awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic among the ELCZ members and in the communities.
• To contribute to an effective response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic through strengthening partnerships and linkages with key stakeholders at local, national ,regional and international levels .
• To mobilize communities to support and care for people infected and affected by HIV&AIDS and their families.
• To empower people living with HIV & AIDS through self reliance programs.
• To provide conducive working environments for employees.
• Improve knowledge of HIV&AIDS through developing and expanding information, education, preaching, and counseling and communication activities.
• To promote issues on gender and HIV&AIDS.

Volunteers visit the terminally at their home to feed and offer home based care.

• Promote Herbal Remedies.
• Promote good nutrition

INFRASTUCTRACTURE:

• Fully furnished established offices (HBC, OVC, Library, Youth/Advocacy department and Administration Offices.

VCT center (Fully equipped).

• Communication: One telephone line, No fax , No Email.

• One for the Accounts and has the pastel accounting Program
• One is specifically For the VCT Data Capturing.

• Printer (Two)
• No Scanner.
• 3 VCRs and 3 TVs ( Cassettes in local languages and in English forty-five )
• One Vehicle
• Four Motor cycles
• Bicycles (60) half need Repairs
• Video Camera and Picture camera
• Radio tape recorder.
